Al-Qalam University to Honor Alhaji Dahiru Barau Mangal with Doctorate Award

Al-Qalam University, Katsina, has announced plans to confer an honorary doctorate degree in Business Administration on renowned entrepreneur Alhaji Dahiru Barau Mangal. The recognition is in appreciation of his exceptional contributions to business development and community advancement in Nigeria.
Speaking during a press conference on Monday, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Nasiru Musa Yauri, disclosed that Alhaji Dahiru Mangal will be honored alongside three other notable personalities from Katsina State. These include the late former Nigerian President Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, the late Sani Buhari Walin Daura, and Alhaji Bilya Sanda (Khadimul Qur’an). The ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, December 7, at the university’s main campus along the Dutsinma Road, Katsina, as part of this year’s convocation activities.
Born in Katsina, Alhaji Dahiru Barau Mangal is a prominent figure in Nigerian commerce, particularly in aviation, manufacturing, and other sectors. He is the founder of MAX AIR, one of the leading airlines in Nigeria, facilitating both domestic and international travel.
In addition to aviation, Alhaji Mangal established industrial ventures such as Mangal Cement and Gobarau Fertilizer, which have significantly contributed to job creation and economic growth in the country. Known for his philanthropic spirit, he actively supports initiatives in education, healthcare, and other areas that enhance societal well-being.
This honorary degree from Al-Qalam University underscores Alhaji Mangal’s impactful role in improving lives and advancing national development.
